“ONE-STOP SHOP” FURNITURE SUPPLY AND INSTALLATION
Client: Birmingham City Council
Project location: Birmingham
Accommodation: Social housing
Project duration: Ongoing
For Birmingham City Council, David Phillips provides “one stop shop” supply and installation to residents eligible for a Community Care Grant (Local Welfare Fund). Our service includes delivery and installation of white goods, furniture and carpets, and the removal and disposal/recycling of furniture and white goods.
We have been working with Birmingham City Council since 2004 and have supported the Community Care Grant scheme since 2013, with a ‘jobs right first time ratio’ of 99%+. This project has also delivered significant community benefits, creating seven jobs in our Birmingham branch, with candidates taken directly from the unemployed register.
In the financial year to April 2015 we delivered 130,094 products to residents in Birmingham, with a total value in excess of £2.8 million. In addition, we identified cost savings that could save Birmingham Council in excess of £50,000 per annum.
