Construction firm Multiplex contracted David Phillips to supply and install loose furniture for 1,250 bedrooms and several communal areas in this prestigious central London new-build student accommodation project.

Over almost a year, we worked with UPP, the client for this project and a long-standing David Phillips partner, to source and develop ideas for Garden Halls. We also selected competitively priced alternatives that were in keeping with the architect’s concept.

Because of construction overruns, our installation programme was compressed from five months to eight weeks, during which time we furnished all 1,250 bedrooms as well as 25 townhouse/cluster kitchens and 17 communal areas. We sourced or developed around 150 products from scratch, including key upholstery items, dining tables and dining chairs. At the project’s peak we had over certified 20 installers on site – many working through the night – to meet the student intake data.
